2025 Bill Beckman Campus Canthon Guts Frisbee Tournament
The Bill Beckman Campus Canathon Guts Frisbee Tournament will be taking place at the Northern Michigan University (NMU) Superior Dome in Marquette, MI on Saturday March 15th, from 3:00 - 11:00pm. The Marquette Guts Frisbee Association is partnering with TV6 and the Salvation Army of Marquette to run a food drive in conjunction with the tournament in order to feed hungry families in the Marquette and surrounding area. A donation of 3 or more non-perishable food items from all spectators is appreciated and the suggested "entry fee" for all fans. The beer garden will also be open during the tournament and located along the sideline for an easy viewing experience! Please join us for this fantastic event!!!
  • Player entry fee is $25, rookies play for free. (A rookie is a player who has yet to play in a sanctioned tournament, or played in their first sanctioned tournament within the last year)
  • Field setup will take place from 3:00 - 3:20pm.
  • Player warm up from 3:00 - 3:45pm.
  • Opening ceremony will begin at 3:50pm.
  • Games will start at 4:00pm... SHARP!

  • Teams will be picked by the tournament staff and made up of 5-6 players, with an experience range of veteran players to new rookie players. Players are able to register in pairs or as singles. So reach out to fellow players, talk to your friends, find a buddy, or just go in solo! Registration will close at 5:00pm on Friday March 14th! This is to allow the tournament staff enough time to evenly distribute the players and create as equally fair and competitive teams as possible.

  • If you need to make lodging plans, the Ramada Inn is offering discounted rates for rooms under "Marquette Guts Frisbee" for March 14th and 15th. The block of rooms is confirmed in their system and ready for guests to begin making their reservations. Please call the front desk directly at 906-228-6000 and mention the group name to receive the discounted rate.

In the 1970s and 80s Marquette was a Bastian for Guts Frisbee in America. We had practices in the cemetery, the swamp, tourist park, Picnic Rocks and many others. Every party had throw together guts games going all night long. Brothers and sisters from virtually every family in Marquette at 1 time played guts. One family in particular was the Beckman's, They had 5 brothers who played. Dan "Red" the oldest, and Jim "JB" were members of the legendary Queen City Flyers with future HOF Dan being the captain for many years. Then, Allan and Brian of Bud Light fame and Scott who also played. Their sister Linda was always there as well. Their parents Bill and Betty R.I.P. were at every tournament and they were loved by all. They are fixtures of our beloved sport. Marquette Guts is so thankful that their family is sponsoring The Bill Beckman Campus Canathon Guts Frisbee Tournament on March 15th, 2025.
